At Hub OS, we believe that our strength lies in the bonds we share and the collaborative spirit we foster. Last week, our team came together from across Europe, catching flights to meet at our headquarters in the beautiful coastal town of Blanes. It was a week filled with laughter, learning, and lots of fuet y jamón ibérico. Here’s a look back at our unforgettable team-building adventure.
Bringing the Team Together
Our week kicked off with warm welcomes (some new faces) and typical Spanish breakfasts that set the tone for the days ahead. Every Wednesdays, big part of the team (yes developers, this one is for you) gathers around at the office, reinforcing the sense of family that defines Hub OS.
Meeting at the office facilitates face-to-face connections and spontaneous collaboration, strengthening our bond and enhancing our collective creativity and productivity.
Activities and Adventures
Throughout the week, we engaged in various activities. Here are some highlights:
🏓 Paddle Games: We enjoyed friendly (not always hahah) paddle games that brought out our competitive spirits and fostered teamwork. It was a great way to get active and have fun together.
🍢 Tapas Night: We indulged in delightful tapas nights (although burgers were part of the menu), sharing stories and laughs over fantastic food. These evenings were all about relaxing and enjoying each other’s company in a casual setting. There’s nothing better than some funny stories about what the company (and team members) have gone through the years.
🚶♀️ City Walks: Exploring the beautiful city of Blanes, we took leisurely walks that allowed us to appreciate the local culture and stunning views. These walks were perfect for casual conversations and getting to know each other better while getting the minimum steps required for the day. We highly recommend the Jardí Botànic Marimurtra and Castillo de Sant Joan.
👥 Team Member Dates: One-on-one meetings were set up to discuss all kinds of matters. These discussions helped us understand each other’s goals, challenges, and aspirations, both within and outside of work. This was crucial for all kinds of ongoing projects.
📊 Team Presentations: We also dedicated time to team presentations where we shared what we have been working on. This not only kept everyone informed but also sparked ideas and discussions that will drive our projects forward. Shoutout to the Mobile Developing team!
🌍 Embracing Remote Work: An important part of our week was getting comfortable with the idea of working from everywhere but being able to always include all team members—even at the office! It was a great reminder of the flexibility that defines our work culture.
Strengthening Our Family
Our team-building week was more than just activities and meetings; it was about experiencing firsthand the benefits of coming together as a family. We tackled departmental and cross-departmental discussions, put faces to new team members, and brainstormed an imaginary list of features for expanding our offices. The collaboration and creativity were truly inspiring.
A Shoutout to Our Leaders
Special thanks to Joan and Alex, our founders, who ensure we meet multiple times a year to foster these connections. Their commitment to building a team that knows more about each other than what we share on Slack is what makes Hub OS unique. Your leadership and vision are the backbone of our family spirit.
Looking Forward
As we continue to grow and expand, the connections and memories we’ve built during this team-building week will guide us. We’re more than just colleagues; we’re also friends and family, ready to support each other and achieve great things together.
Here’s to more adventures, more innovations, and more moments of joy as we continue our journey together at Hub OS. Until next time!
